Message From The Country was the fourth and final studio album by The Move, a British rock band that consisted of Roy Wood, Jeff Lynne, and Bev Bevan. After the release of this final studio album, the trio went on and founded Electric Light Orchestra. The influence of The Beatles runs through most of the songs stylistically, while still sounding like the first ELO album, which was recorded during the same lengthy recording sessions as Message From The Country. The Move generated what was, song for song, their most complex and challenging album. Herman Kelly & Life were a late1970s modern soulfunk group based in Miami, Florida. They were signed to the Miami based record label and disco empire T.K. Records and recorded only one album, Percussion Explosion, which was released in 1978. The first 12inch single on the subsidiary TK record label Electric Cat was mislabeled and had a typographical error and stated “Dance To The Drummer Beat”.”Dance To The Drummer’s Beat” is considered one of the foundation tracks of hiphop. Another version was also released, this time on the regular TK records label, which was remixed by pioneering remixspecialist DJ Jim Burgess, who was the resident DJ of Studio 54, The Saint, 12 West and many more. “Dance To The Drummer’s Beat” was heavily s&led by the hiphop community on tracks such as N.W.A.’s “Dope Man”, Run D.M.C. ‘s “Beats To The Rhyme”, Public Enemy’s “Burn Hollywood Burn”, Michael Jackson’s Refugee C& remix of his “Blood On The Dancefloor” hit, and s&le kings Double Dee & Steinkski’s track “Lesson 3″ amongst many others.For the first time ever, the original disco version and the Jim Burgess remix of Dance To The Drummer’s Beat” are now available as a 12inch, and contain the additional Bside track “Easy Going Noches Eternas” and “Who’s The Funky Dj”.Exclusively for Record Store Day 2024, Dance to the Drummer’s Beat is cut on 45RPM and is available as a limited edition of 500 numbered copies of on translucent blue vinyl. Alberto Baldan Bembo 19382017, also known as Ali Ben Djamballa, Bedan, Blue Marvin or Shorty Baldan, was a multiinstrumentalist vibraphonist, organist and pianist. Since 1959 he has been part of the group I Menestrelli del Jazz and in 1963 he joined Bruno De Filippi’s group. Appreciated as a sideman, he was for several years pianist and organist in the group that accompanied the Italian singer Mina. He has also spent much of his career as a composer of film soundtracks and published several albums through our label, among which we must remember the soundtrack of Codice damore orientale, released by SAARJoker in 1974, which will soon be rereleased on vinyl as a limited edition by our label. The Soul Of Ali Ben Djamballa Alberto Baldans 1974 album is a highly sought after LP by record collectors around the world. Following the creation of the Afroflavored funk of this period, represented by Fela Kuti Nigeria and Osibisa Ghana, the album features European Library Music grooves, including Blue Jeans, Black Coffee, Take Six and Niger.
