The band considered various titles for the album before settling on the name alongside the legendary artist, Peter Blake, who designed the unique cover art. Boasting a myriad of pop gems and majestic dub cuts, the album was the band’ s seventh record to reach the UK’ s Top Ten album chart, proving once again that Madness were still at the very top of their game, over 30 years on. This reissue includes 7 bonus tracks, which didn’ t appear on the original LP, pressed on double heavyweight vinyl and presented in gatefold packaging. It also includes brand new liner notes featuring interviews with band members Mike Barson, Chrissyboy Foreman and Daniel ‘Woody’ Woodgate.

The 2018 album Igor Stravinsky’ s The Soldier’ s Tale is the adaptation by Roger Waters cofounder of Pink Floyd on the 1918 sametitled theatrical work. Waters recorded this version with members of the Bridgeh&ton Chamber Music Festival at Bridgeh&ton Presbyterian Church. The original theatre work is one “to be read, played, and danced” by three actors the soldier, the devil, and a narrator and dancers, accompanied by a septet of instruments. The libretto relates the parable of a soldier who trades his fiddle to the devil in return for unlimited economic gain. The music is scored for a septet of violin, double bass, clarinet, bassoon, cornet or trumpet, trombone, and percussion. The libretto is adapted by Roger Waters from the translation by Michael Flanders and Kitty Black, based on the original text by CharlesFerdinand Ramus. The Soldier’ s Tale is available as a limited edition of 1000 individually numbered copies on crystal clear vinyl. The vinyl package includes 2 printed innersleeves with lyrics and pictures.

The album features guest appearances by Ray Coburn Honeymoon Suite, Carl Dixon Coney Hatch and Paul MacAusland Haywire. The opening track “Hard To Love” was cowritten by songwriter Christopher Ward, who is best known as the cowriter of worldwide hit “Black Velvet” by Alannah Myles.
