Burgess had been a long time fan of Gordonrsquos work with Arthur Russell and The Love Of Life Orchestra. The album was produced by Gordon in New York and features many of his and Timrsquos previous collaborators Ernie Brooks who played with Arthur Russell on the first Modern Lovers album, trombone player Peter Zummo, conga player Mustafa Ahmed and Nik Void from Factory Floor. What I love about working with Peter is that in the late 70s with Peter Zummo and Arthur Russell and all the New York cats at The Kitchen, they were all making futuristic records, Burgess enthuses. Now Peter in his mid60s is still looking to do that. Its the world that I want to be in.The album will be available on Limited Clear Double Vinyl, CD and Digital.

    Gizmodrome Heavyweight LP by Gizmodrome

Vinyl Records London are on cloud nine, we are now spinning in a brand new copy in Heavyweight LP from Gizmodrome This is the heavyweight vinyl format of Gizmodromes selftitled debut album the new band of Stewart Copeland, Adrian Belew, Mark King amp Vittorio Cosma which comes in a double gatefold. ldquoStrange Things Happenrdquo is the title of a song on Gizmodromeacutes debut album. Certainly great things have happened in the studio, when the four incredible talents met to create one of the most exciting and versatile albums of 2017. Gizmodrome is in fact a highvoltage ldquoAllStarBandrdquo formed by Stewart Copeland The Police and multiawarded soundtracks composer, Mark King Level 42, Adrian Belew ex King Crimson, David Bowie, Frank Zappa and Talking Heads and Vittorio Cosma who played with Italian prog legends PFM and an impressive list of Italian and international stars. In days of ldquolongdistance recordingrdquo, with musicians emailing each other sound files, never having been in the same room, Gizmodrome started with the very opposite approach real old school excitement by four musicians in the rehearsal room It is not a surprise that four musicians with such diverse talents and backgrounds, playing one step from each other, have created music that is vibrant, electric and unpredictable. Stewart Copeland who is known for his exceptional drum style in songs that changed pop rock forever, is obviously the wild talent behind the drums, but he takes the lead as the main singer in almost all songs and it is the match of his unique vocal approach with the melodic vocals lines of Mark King and the extravagant singing style of Belew to make each song a masterpiece One would naturally wonder how two US based musicians could end up forming a band with one English and one Italian musicianhellip Stewart Copeland explains ldquoVittorio and I have been playing together for years, in Italy, but it got serious when Adrian and Mark joined us for 15 days of wild creativity in a Milan recording studio. If you put the right guys together in a rehearsal room, ldquostrange thingsrdquo definitely happenrdquo. ldquoStewart texted me and asked if I fancied joining him and some of his friends in a studio in Milanrdquo, remembers Mark King, ldquoand next thing, Irsquom banging out basslines to his ferocious beats with Mr. Adrian Belew bouncing sounds off the walls that I never heard before, and Vittorio who somehow always pulls it all together. That is Gizmodromerdquo Adrian Belew adds ldquoGizmodrome totally surprised me I went into a studio in Italy not knowing what to expect and by the end of day one of recording I knew two things the musical chemistry was incredibly exciting and we were having incredible funrdquo. The result of this amazing experience is something new and truly unique. Gizmodrome is unpredictable and pioneering. ldquoGizmodrome took me back to the authentic joy to play music I had when I was sixteen, says Vittorio. ldquoJust a band and a garage with the walls covered with the posters of all my music heroes. Only it happens now that Irsquom playing with the people on the postersrdquo ldquoGizmodromerdquo has been produced by Claudio Dentes, a wizard producer that could be best described as the musical version of Dr. Brown in ldquoBack To The Futurerdquo, responsible for some of the most creative and successful Italian production for the last 30 years.

  • Lung Bread For Daddy Yellow Heavyweight LP by Du Blonde

Lung Bread For Daddy Yellow Heavyweight LP by Du Blonde

Vinyl Records London are on cloud nine, we are now spinning in a brand new copy in Heavyweight LP from Du Blonde Her new album Lung Bread For Daddy delves even deeper into self sufficiency, seeing Beth take the reigns on production, instrumentation, album artwork and direction of music videos. This project is entirely her own. ldquoI know exactly what I want my record to sound like and apart from drums, I have the ability to play all the instruments, so I didrdquo Houghton states. True to form, the first peak of the new album is the self directed video Houghton has also made videos for Ezra Furman, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and LUMP for lead single Buddy which also stars a bathtub, 3 bottles of vegetable oil and 37 packets of spaghetti. Lung Bread For Daddy sees a meeting in which Bethrsquos previous two albums, 2015rsquos lsquoWelcome Back To Milkrsquo and her debut lsquoYours Truly, Cellophane Nosersquo, take a seat at the table and make amends. Veering wildly between protopunk, psych rock and the wholesome song writing of the 1970rsquos, taking the listener on a journey through the landscape of her past. It is an honest and often uncomfortable look into the life of a person whorsquos experiences have been touched by a myriad of characters, homes across continents, periods of extreme loneliness, mental illness and a search for an understanding of personal identity. ldquoMy lyrics are always autobiographical. I have to be able identify with what Irsquom singing, and telling my story is therapeuticrdquo. Houghtons insatiable thirst for creation on her own terms has seen her take charge of every aspect of Lung Bread For Daddy including the brutal self portrait that adorns the cover of this record. Painted from a photograph taken during one of her lowest points, the image depicts Beth devoid not only of makeup, but self worth and confidence. ldquoI look tired and pretty much destroyed, which is a feeling Irsquove known many times over in the aftermath of relationships and that of making a record. Lyrically the album is very naked so Irsquom carrying on the nudity of my previous album covers, only this time itrsquos emotional instead of physical.rdquo

Ian Gillan & The Javelins Heavyweight LP by Ian Gillan

Vinyl Records London are on cloud nine, we are now spinning in a brand new copy in Heavyweight LP from Ian Gillan Every Deep Purple true lover knows how much their magic and powerful style is the result of many different influences brought in by the single members, all merging into the powerful sound loved by millions of rock fans. Ian Gillanacutes love for American soul and Rhythm amp Blues as well as skiffle and early rock and roll has been well documented in many articles and interviews.Founded in the early 60s, The Javelins were influenced by Pop, Soul, Country, Jazz and Blues artists from America. They soaked up the music of their heroes, added their own stamp and went from town to town to perform their favourite songs in front of a small but ever growing audience ndash becoming local heroes themselves. This was the time when Ian Gillan discovered himself, broke the chains and lsquofound his voicersquo. The Javelins paved the way for the Ian Gillan who, only a few years later, wrote music history with Deep Purple, becoming one of the most iconic frontmen of all time and, together with very few others, shaped rock music the way we know it today.ldquoThese contemporary recordings 2018 by The Javelins are drawn from our set lists, circa 1963, when I was 18 years old. Now, a few years later, I have the privilege and joy of working with my old mates from the original group Gordon Fairminer Lead Guitar Tony Tacon Rhythm Guitar Tony Whitfield Bass Guitar Keith Roach Drums, as we make a long overdue L.P.rdquoIan Gillan has defined this new studio album as ldquoa collection of catchy rhythms and feelgood melodiesrdquo. This understating definition shows Gillanacutes ability to still look at those songs and his whole career with the same eyes of the 18 year old boy who sang them many years ago.But there is a lot more to this recordingshellipBy paying tribute to music legends such as Chuck Berry, The Drifters, Jerry Lee Lewis, Ray Charles, Buddy Holly and Bo Diddley, Gillan and The Javelins have not only managed to do that.Avoiding the use of any modern technology, the band has managed to find the spontaneity and true sense of freedom of pop and rock and roll music of 50 years ago, probably without completely realizing it themselves. One world superstar and four friends who have taken very different directions in life none decided to ldquoturn prordquo as they would say it but still able to capture the essence of what being a performing band is about. This album is what happened during four days of recordings in a studio in Hamburg, Germany, where instruments, microphones, lyrics sheets and memories were the only tools allowed. This album is not an act of nostalgia, or a celebration of the purity of the old days versus modernity. This is simply what the Javelins were in 1963hellip and this is what they are now, if they happen to meet in the studio, embracing their guitars and look at each other with a big smile on their face. This is where it all started.ldquoIan Gillan amp The Javelinsrdquo has been recorded at the Chameleon Studios during a five days recording session in Hamburg, March 2018, Germany. It features Don Airey as special guest on piano.nbspIan Gillan amp The Javelins areSinger Ian GillanLead Guitar Gordon FairminerRhythm Guitar Tony TaconBass Guitar Tony WhitfieldDrums Keith Roach

    Autofiction LP by Suede

Vinyl Records London are on cloud nine, we are now spinning in a brand new copy in LP Vinyl from Suede Black Heavyweight Vinyl LP in Gatefold Sleeve.Suede return with their ninth studio album Autofiction, set for release on 16th September 2022 via BMG.nbspAs Suede began work on the songs that would become Autofiction, they decided to go back to basics. In a move that recalled their most formative days, Brett Anderson, Mat Osman, Simon Gilbert, Richard Oakes and Neil Codling schlepped to a rehearsal studio in deserted Kings Cross to collect a key, hump their own gear, set up and start playing.Speaking about Autofiction, Brett Anderson said Autofiction is our punk record. No whistles and bells. Just the five of us in a room with all the glitches and fuckups revealed the band themselves exposed in all their primal mess.First single lsquoShe Still Leads Me Onrsquo is the track that reconfigured what the album could be. A beautiful song written from Brett to his late mother. As its title suggests, Autofiction is one of Andersonrsquos most personal records yet. Reflecting on the process of writing acclaimed works of memoir Coal Black Mornings and Afternoons With The Blinds Drawn helped Brett get a newfound perspective on himself as a performer and singer in the public eye, much of which has bled into the lyricism of Autofiction.Includes instant grat downloads of She Still Leads Me On and 15 Again upon purchase completion.
