WORLD GONE MAD is 11 songs that are Cyco and brutal with a true honesty that Suicidal Cycos expect the CD starts off with the instantly memorable ldquo Clap like Ozzyrdquo, which deals with life and death and what we make of it. Never afraid to push the boundaries, this album also features those unique elements that Suicidal has always put in their studio releases throughout their almost 35 years career. Produced by Mike Muir with help of legendary producer Paul Northfield Rush, Dream Theater, Queensryumlche, Ozzy Osbourne, Hole, Marilyn Manson who also engineered and mixed the record. However, unknown to almost anyone, Rick had in fact virtually completed his first solo album whilst undergoing a period of recuperation after his heart attack in July. That album, poignantly titled lsquoOver And Outrsquo will now be released on 23 March 2018 through earMUSIC.nbspFeaturing 10 brand new songs, including the title track that broke hearts anew when it was played at Rickrsquos funeral, this is an album of depth and passion. Created by Rick Parfitt and Producer Jo Webb, the record is a true labour of love and showcases the softer side of Rick as a writer, artist and performer away from the Quo maelstrom as well as the purest rock and roll sound of earlier Status Quo records.nbspDespite the fact Rick Parfitt had finished recording his guitar and vocal parts, a recording session was planned to happen in February 2017. Certain tracks were not totally finished when Rick died. The call to help ensure that his work could be completed, so that the world could hear it was answered by musicians of the calibre of Queenrsquos Brian May and Musersquos Chris Wolstenholme, both of whom were close to Rick. Rickrsquos son, Rick Parfitt Jnr, was also involved in the creative process, as were John ldquoRhinordquo Edwards and Alan Lancaster, amongst many others. All of those involved in completing the songs that Rick had written for lsquoOver And Outrsquo have done him proud in bringing his vision to fruition.Rickacutes music always featured two elements the raw rock and roll sound and a great passion for melodies. ldquoOver And Outrdquo offers the best of both worlds It has been recorded and written with a bandacutes spirit between Rick and Jo. It was August 1976 when Paice Ashton Lord emerged amidst much fanfare in the music press. It was big news that drummer Ian Paice and organist Jon Lord were forming a new band together after the messy demise of Deep Purple. Having worked together before, Tony Ashton was on top of Jon Lordrsquos musicians wish list and became the singer, pianist and front man of the band. nbspThey put out an advert in the music papers, did castings and in the end Bernie Marsden Guitar and Paul Martinez Bass completed the band together with additional backing singers and a brass section. One album release, a messedup TV appearance, a tour and a never finished second album later the story of PAL ended in 1978. Bernie, Jon and then Ian joined Whitesnake, while Paice Ashton Lord faded into history. A history not only worth remembering but being celebrated again with this release. nbspMalice In Wonderland is the only album of the band. Influenced by Jon Lord and Tony Ashtonrsquos previous collaborations it merged rock with big band Swing, Rhythm lsquonrsquo Blues and Funk. The one thing they didnrsquot want to end up being was laidback. And they didnrsquot. Malice in Wonderland is driving and swinging feel good rock at its finest. nbspldquoPAL was trying to do something ahead of its time, the sort of thing Level 42 became, a cross between jazz and rockrdquo. Ian Paice. nbspMalice in Wonderland will be available as digipak, limited gatefold double vinyl and digital album. The reissue includes over 30 minutes of remastered material from the long lost second album.
