Available with Vinyl records London. Limited Vinyl Records LP Vinyl Matt Deighton The lost 2001 album The Common Good followed quickly on the heels of the release of You Are The Healer. It was part produced by John Leckie and features an allstar cast of performances from drum maestro Steve White, Keyboard legend Mick Talbot, alongside a world class complement of Marco Nelson, Nicola BrightThomas and of course, Paul Weller. Originally released on a limited run of vinyl and CD, it then vanished without a trace for two decades, save for a couple of bootlegs that robbed him of any royalties, and a handful of fans refusing to let it die online. Now it has finally been restored to glory in 24 bit for the first time, for a worldwide release. It is a record that is slightly more electric than the others with standout tracks such as Large As Life, A Saint Coming Home and Finger of Rain perhaps owing something to Matts time with Paul Weller and Oasis, but there are still those haunting acoustic moments that define him, such as Evensong, and The Common Good. The album was remastered in 2020 from the original tapes by Russ HepworthSawyer and then prepared for vinyl by Jason Mitchell. One of this countrys best kept secrets The Huffington Post34A mellow folksoul gem, shamefully overlooked… there039s clearly a sharp, undervalued talent at work.34 Mojo 45

You Are The Healer Heavyweight LP – Matt Deighton
Available with Vinyl records London. Remastered Vinyl Records LP Vinyl Matt Deighton You are The Healer is Matts second solo album, and his first since leaving Mother Earth and his former label Acid Jazz. The first release on Matts own Barley Wheel label was delayed until 2000 following a long running dispute with Acid Jazz that was finally resolved with Matt regaining ownership and releasing the album himself. Recorded in a converted chapel in the North East of England it features drummer and folk percussionist Liam Genockey along with his partner in rhythm Tim Harries on double bass. Liam had played on John Martyns Sundays Child album which was a favourite of Matts at the time. They were joined in the studio by keyboard wizard Brian Auger who put down hammond and piano on several tracks. The album was recorded in two weeks, and with backing vocals throughout from Nicola BrightThomas Matts then wife who also takes the lead on two she co wrote, there are clear parallels with John and Beverley Martyns Stormbringer as well as inevitable comparisons with Davey Graham, Nick Drake, and Pentangles Solomons Seal. This was the album that confirmed Matt to the world as a solo artist here to stay after wowing those who knew with Villager. A timeless record, impeccably written and performed by serious musicians at the top of their game. The album has been remastered from the original studio master mixes by Russ HepworthSawyer.34The influences are out front, primarily John Martyn, with Nick Drake and David Crosby thrown in… although the overall feeling is Scritti Politi stripped of the electronics. The word melliflous seeps over you as you listen…34 The Guardian 4534Matt Deighton has something unique about him and this You Are The Healer is a winning selection… it039s been worth the wait. A Modern Classic that just has to be the HFC Album of the Month34 Sounds Magazine34It is impossible to imagine fans of Nick Drake and John Martyn not falling in love with him34 Sunday Times
