Fly To The Rainbow Transparent Purple Heavyweight Vinyl. This Heavyweight Vinyl is in stock. For more check out all the official Scorpions merchandise & vinyl available for home delivery with Vinyl Records London, only £25 +P&P The Scorpions second studio album, FLY TO THE RAINBOW, was released on 01 November 1974 and is the first album produced by the members of the band themselves. The album was produced shortly after their LONESOME CROW tour, after which Michael Schenker left the band and was replaced by Uli Jon Roth. Stylistically, FLY TO THE RAINBOW deviated strongly from their debut album LONESOME CROW and moved in a more experimental direction, which nevertheless already showed strong hard rock influences at that time and already foreshadowed where the band would later go. Besides lead singer Klaus Meine, the album also features the voices of Rudolf Schenker They Need a Million and Uli Jon Roth Drifting Sun. To date, the album has sold more than a million copies worldwide. FLY TO THE RAINBOW was remastered with special care from the original tapes and is now released as a 180g 1LP, pressed on transparent purple vinyl.
Heavyweight vinyl is pressed on thicker, denser material—typically weighing 180 grams or more. This added weight offers improved durability, reduced warping, and is often believed to provide better sound quality due to more stable playback. Many audiophile releases, reissues, and deluxe editions are pressed on heavyweight vinyl, making it a popular choice among collectors and music enthusiasts who value both performance and longevity. While it doesn’t automatically guarantee superior audio, its solid, premium feel and association with high-quality production standards have made it a trusted format for serious vinyl fans.
Vinyl records are a timeless format that continues to captivate music lovers with their warm, analogue sound. Unlike digital formats, vinyl offers a rich, textured listening experience that many argue feels more authentic and immersive. With their larger artwork and tangible presence, records bring a sense of nostalgia and artistry to any music collection.
Whether you’re a seasoned collector or new to the world of vinyl, records have a unique ability to connect listeners to music on a deeper level. Their physical grooves and the ritual of placing a needle on a spinning disc create a tactile and engaging experience. From classic albums to modern releases, vinyl remains a cherished way to enjoy music.
