Electrodub pioneers Dreadzone reissue their 2001 album Sound. The band formed in 1993 when exBig Audio Dynamitedrummer Greg lsquoDreadrsquo Roberts teamed up with Tim Bran, with the duo soon joined by bassist Leo Williams. Until therelease of their fourth album lsquoSoundrsquo in 2001 the band continually remixed itself, chopping and changing members andrecord labels. Greg and Tim approached the new millennium with a fresh idea in the form of the Dubwiser Club night atNotting Hill Arts Club ndash a move that would sow the seeds for the birth of lsquoSoundrsquo in 2001 on the Ruff Life label. Theychannelled their energy into DJ based club nights that fused dub and reggae with contemporary electronic beats to createthe perfect soundtrack for people from different planets. This proved a fertile musical playground with immediate feedbackon the Dreadzone sound. It was in this climate and in a new studio that the band would create lsquoSoundrsquo. The album waswritten and evolved over a two year period at the turn of the century and featured contributions from Don Letts, Earl 16,Brinsley Forde and MC Det. Itrsquos also most notable for the first appearance of a certain MC Spee on the opening tuneReturn of Dread. Heavyweight-LP

A heavyweight LP refers to a vinyl record pressed on thicker, high-quality vinyl, typically weighing between 180 and 200 grams. This format is favoured by audiophiles due to its superior sound quality, as the thicker vinyl reduces surface noise and distortion, resulting in a cleaner, more detailed listening experience.

Heavyweight LPs not only deliver better sound but also feel more substantial and durable. The increased vinyl thickness helps preserve the integrity of the music over time, making them a preferred choice for collectors who seek enhanced audio performance. With their premium quality and attention to detail, heavyweight LPs offer an elevated listening experience that brings out the best in any record collection.
