Sounding closer to Scott Walker than The Yardbirds, lsquoShapes In My Mindrsquo was recorded in California with Yardbirds Keith Relf and Jimmy Page backed by a trio of session musicians the now legendary Hal Blaine drums, Joe Osborne bass and Larry Knechtel keys. The Bside features lsquoBlue Sandsrsquo, a rare instrumental curio credited to The Yardbirds, although actually performed by Columbia labelmates by The Outsiders.
