Originally formed in the early seventies, they had reunions in 1983 and 2008 before a new lineup got together in 2010 with the arrival of the new members JeanLuc Ponty and Frank Gambale. “The Mothership Returns” was recorded in the course of the year 2011 and features the impressive lineup consisting of Chick Corea piano & keyboard, Stanley Clarke electric & acoustic bass, JeanLuc Ponty electric & acoustic violin, Frank Gambale electric & acoustic guitar and Lenny White drums.
