Theo Kottisrsquos celebrated lsquoTurning Aroundrsquo and lsquoClearrsquo get a joint 12rdquo vinyl release on 24 April on Skint Records, alongside the Gerd Janson remix of lsquoTurning Aroundrsquo and an exclusive remix of lsquoClearrsquo by Hubie Davison. lsquoTurning Aroundrsquo was one of 2019rsquos standout tracks, receiving top reviews, Annie Macrsquos lsquoHottest Record in the Worldrsquo, and played widely at festivals. One of the main supporters was Running Back label boss and ldquothe DJrsquos DJrdquo Gerd Janson who gives the uplifting disco workout a highoctane sheen, with a cascade of shimmering beats and a poignant, powerful refrain. On the BSide is lsquoClearrsquo, born out of a sample clearance issue which inspired Theo Kottis to write an original piece of music that was lsquoclearrsquo of samples. The end result is an exciting fusion of Italo disco and lsquo80s synthpop, complete with a euphoric vocal. Exclusive to the vinyl release, acclaimed Irishborn and now Londonbased producer Hubie Davison delivers a deeper and tougher reworking, which is perfect for peaktime dancefloors. In Hubiersquos words Therersquos nothing better than being given a load of quality source material and license to have fun with it, and thatrsquos exactly what happened here. Irsquove been following Theo for a while now, so it was a joy to open the hood on lsquoClearrsquo and have a go at it. Having Gerd Janson on the other side makes it even better. Hopefully people enjoy these mixes as much as I do.rdquo
