Room To Roam (Half Speed Master) Double Heavyweight Vinyl. This Heavyweight Vinyl is in stock. For more check out all the official The Waterboys merchandise & vinyl available for home delivery with Vinyl Records London, only £28 +P&P The Waterboys 1990 album ‘Room to Roam’ was the bands fifth album. It continued the FolkRock sound of 1988s Fishermans Blues and was recorded at Spiddal House in Galway, where the last recording sessions from the preceding album, Fishermans Blues, had been recorded. Room to Roam would be the last of The Waterboys Folkrock sound until the release of Universal Hall in 2003. Fiddler Steve Wickham, who had been a large inspiration for the change to that sound for Fishermans Blues, left the band shortly before Room to Roam was released. This new vinyl has been produced to compliment The Magnificent Seven CDDVDBook box set. Mastered for Halfspeed and cut by Miles Showell at Abbey Road and made into a double album running at 45rpm. The original artwork has been presented in a new 5mm wide spine sleeve, polyline inners and insert.
Heavyweight vinyl is pressed on thicker, denser material—typically weighing 180 grams or more. This added weight offers improved durability, reduced warping, and is often believed to provide better sound quality due to more stable playback. Many audiophile releases, reissues, and deluxe editions are pressed on heavyweight vinyl, making it a popular choice among collectors and music enthusiasts who value both performance and longevity. While it doesn’t automatically guarantee superior audio, its solid, premium feel and association with high-quality production standards have made it a trusted format for serious vinyl fans.
Vinyl records are a timeless format that continues to captivate music lovers with their warm, analogue sound. Unlike digital formats, vinyl offers a rich, textured listening experience that many argue feels more authentic and immersive. With their larger artwork and tangible presence, records bring a sense of nostalgia and artistry to any music collection.
Whether you’re a seasoned collector or new to the world of vinyl, records have a unique ability to connect listeners to music on a deeper level. Their physical grooves and the ritual of placing a needle on a spinning disc create a tactile and engaging experience. From classic albums to modern releases, vinyl remains a cherished way to enjoy music.
