Exclusive, free, BandSigned The Sin Of Pride 12′ cover art card with every LP purchased from this store while art card stocks last. The Undertones formed in Derry, 1975, the result of five friends John O’Neill, Damian O’Neill, Feargal Sharkey, Billy Doherty & Michael Bradley learning how to play basic rock and roll. Rehearsing in Damian’s bedroom eventually led to the band recording John O’Neill’s ‘Teenage Kicks’ in 1978, a record that became a favourite of John Peel. Over the next four years they released more pop gems like ‘Get Over You’, ‘Here Comes The Summer’, ‘Jimmy Jimmy’, ‘You’ve Got My Number Why Don’t You Use It’, ‘Wednesday Week’, ‘My Perfect Cousin’ and ‘It’s Going To Happen’. They also recorded four highly acclaimed LPs with Feargal, toured the USA with The Clash and headlined several tours in those five years. In fact, they almost enjoyed the life of professional musicians. In 1983 Feargal left the band to pursue a solo career and the remaining members decided to call it a day. In 1999 the band reconvened, with fellow Derryman Paul McLoone replacing Feargal Sharkey. They continue to perform today. The Sin Of Pride is the fourth and final album to be released by the original lineup of The Undertones. The album, which was produced by Mike Hedges, was recorded between the autumn of 1982 and the spring of 1983. Unlike the three previous Undertones, which primarily consisted of guitaroriented music, The Sin Of Pride drew much inspiration from both Soul music and Motown.Released on 13 March 1983, The Sin Of Pride reached number 43 in the UK charts. It includes the singles ‘Got To Have You Back’, ‘Chain of Love’ and ‘The Love Parade’.This reissue is an exact replica of the original sleeve and has been pressed on colour vinyl for the first time. The Undertones LP is available for home delivery from Vinyl Records London, only £29
An LP, or long-playing vinyl record, is a classic format cherished by music enthusiasts for its warm, authentic sound. Typically featuring up to 45 minutes of music split between two sides, LPs are the perfect way to enjoy full albums as the artist intended. Their larger format also allows for striking album artwork, making them as much a visual delight as an auditory one.
LPs have become symbols of a deeper connection to music, offering a tactile and immersive experience. From the ritual of placing the needle to the soft crackle as the music begins, playing an LP is a nostalgic journey that transcends digital convenience. Whether you’re collecting vintage classics or exploring modern releases, LPs remain an iconic choice for any music lover.
