Description
lsquolsquoPine forests, clouds like islands, Spanish boys on mopeds, vodka shots amp charcoal fires, palm trees, heat on the asphalt ,larks and lizards and wasps in the grass, asleep in the dunes and empty pools, old men in old village squares, forever playing cards. Pickpockets and Burger King, empty beaches, skinny dipping, short dresses ,widows on benches, girls spending their time watching the lifeguards. All day hitchhiking, beach music and bodysurfing, open car windows and fights in bars, all for one and one for all, strays dogs ,fans turning, all dressed up for the dance.Getting dry with sandy towels, sunglasses and cigarettes, stealing food from empty tables every day like the rest but no day like the last .rsquorsquoAn album looking back on a summer past trying to capture the heat, the haze, the friendship and love, the madness and euphoria sometimes a bit of peace but never much sleep and, of course, itrsquos all a little bittersweet, because itrsquos over, itrsquos gone, itrsquos done. Taking its cue from albums like Royksopprsquos Melody AM or Airrsquos Moon Safari, or Mobyrsquos lsquoPlay or, maybe The Orbrsquos Adventures inhelliprsquo records where you can drop yourself deep into a warm, particular, idiosyncratic and coherent sound, this is an album that wants to be a whole album with a beginning, middle and you guessed it an end. This album has melody at its core, its textured but easy, uplifting and a little yearning a sense of things you know, you recognise, all wrapped up in a funky ball of light and wonder hellipA musical memory for all those who have had a holiday that has been life changing.
