Engine 54 Gold Heavyweight Vinyl. This Heavyweight Vinyl is in stock. For more check out all the official The Ethiopians merchandise & vinyl available for home delivery with Vinyl Records London, only £28 +P&P Engine 54 is the debut studio album by The Ethiopians, who were one of Jamaicas bestloved harmony groups during the late ska, rocksteady and early reggae periods. Responsible for a significant number of hits between the mid1960s and early 1970s, the group was also one of the first Jamaican acts to perform widely in Britain. Their debut album Engine 54 was originally released in 1968 and sounds far more rocksteady than ska, recorded with Tommy McCook and the Supersonics. Few if any other acts brought 60s soul and Jamaican rhythms together with such entrancing results. Engine 54 is available as a limited edition of 750 individually numbered copies on gold coloured vinyl.

Heavyweight Vinyl

Heavyweight vinyl is pressed on thicker, denser material—typically weighing 180 grams or more. This added weight offers improved durability, reduced warping, and is often believed to provide better sound quality due to more stable playback. Many audiophile releases, reissues, and deluxe editions are pressed on heavyweight vinyl, making it a popular choice among collectors and music enthusiasts who value both performance and longevity. While it doesn’t automatically guarantee superior audio, its solid, premium feel and association with high-quality production standards have made it a trusted format for serious vinyl fans.

Vinyl

Vinyl records are a timeless format that continues to captivate music lovers with their warm, analogue sound. Unlike digital formats, vinyl offers a rich, textured listening experience that many argue feels more authentic and immersive. With their larger artwork and tangible presence, records bring a sense of nostalgia and artistry to any music collection.

Whether you’re a seasoned collector or new to the world of vinyl, records have a unique ability to connect listeners to music on a deeper level. Their physical grooves and the ritual of placing a needle on a spinning disc create a tactile and engaging experience. From classic albums to modern releases, vinyl remains a cherished way to enjoy music.
