Description
It039s impossible to dislike Bruce Dickinson. He might be a platinumselling rock star, but he039s as confused and immature as the rest of us. He doesn039t know why he039s here, not really, beyond loving music. He quitIron Maidenand learnt to fly, because he felt he had to earn respect. He was locked into a cycle of selfmutilation. He recorded an album with legendary grunge producer Jack Endino. He had massive hits in South America. He nicked the guitarist fromA Tribe of Gypsies, and let go when he had to. He had three days to write a song to satisfy Mercury Records in the US, and all he had to go on was a cassette of Aerosmith039sRocksshoved under a hotel door. He was the perfect choice to write music for theNightmare on Elm Streetmoviebut in the excitement of producing a No.1 hit, the original version of 34Bring Your Daughter to the Slaughter34 got suppressed. As far as the hits go, they039re all here on this midcareer retrospective, from the brutal 34Darkside of Aquarius34 to 34Accident of Birth34 to the nostalgic 34Born in 0395834.The Best of Bruce Dickinsonit does what it says on the tin.Everett True.
