Description

Between 1998 and 2003, Frank Black and co. released six albums under the Frank Black And The Catholics moniker. All recorded live and direct to twotrack tape, the music created with the Catholics is some of the most energised, raw, and essential of Frank Blacks career. Snake Oil is a collection of cover versions recorded in the studio during this prolific period.Highlights include thunderous takes of Bob Dylans Changing Of The Guards, Bruce Springsteens Im Going Down, and Angsts Some Things I Cant Get Used To.Previously only available as a digital download, Demon Records presents the first physical release of this collection, newly remastered by Phil Kinrade at AIR Mastering and pressed on 140g vinyl, with new artwork featuring photographs by Steve Gullick.

Official Vinyl Records

Vinyl Records are at the heart of what we do, from brand new releases to classic pressings that never lose their pull. You’ll find albums across rock, indie, electronic, punk, metal, hip-hop and beyond, alongside reissues, limited editions and coloured vinyl where available. Whether you’re crate-digging for something familiar or discovering a record for the first time, everything here is chosen for people who actually listen, not just collect. Alongside vinyl, our store brings together official band merchandise and music culture essentials in one place. That means band t-shirts, hoodies, posters, accessories and select collectibles, all sitting naturally alongside the records they belong with. It’s a space built for music fans — the kind who care about artwork, sound, and the stories behind it — whether you’re buying your next favourite record or something to wear, hang, or keep that connects you to the music you love.
