In 1994 Bernard Butler left Suede at the end of the lengthy recording sessions for the bands second album, the acknowledged classic that is Dog Man Star, which he cowrote. His first project was to join forces with singer David McAlmont record the album The Sound Of McAlmont amp Butler, which was released in November 1995. It featured the Top 10 single Yes and the followup You Do.In 1997, Alan McGee signed Bernard up to Creation Records, and he set about recording his first solo album, playing all the instruments himself, except for the drums and strings. Released in April 1998, the album was a critical and commercial success, reaching 11 in the UK album charts and features the hit singles Stay, Not Alone and Change Of Heart.

Official Vinyl Records

Vinyl Records are at the heart of what we do, from brand new releases to classic pressings that never lose their pull. You’ll find albums across rock, indie, electronic, punk, metal, hip-hop and beyond, alongside reissues, limited editions and coloured vinyl where available. Whether you’re crate-digging for something familiar or discovering a record for the first time, everything here is chosen for people who actually listen, not just collect. Alongside vinyl, our store brings together official band merchandise and music culture essentials in one place. That means band t-shirts, hoodies, posters, accessories and select collectibles, all sitting naturally alongside the records they belong with. It’s a space built for music fans — the kind who care about artwork, sound, and the stories behind it — whether you’re buying your next favourite record or something to wear, hang, or keep that connects you to the music you love.
