New Wave icons Adam and the Ants formed in 1977 with Adam and a group of friends who had met at Vivienne Westwoods iconic London fashion boutique, Sex. By 1980, their subversive, groundbreaking sound and iconic fashion had built up a large brigade of loyal fans. Between 1980 to 1982, Adam and The Ants released 3 albums, which all reached the top 10 of the UK Official Albums Chart, including the BRIT Award winning Kings of the Wild Frontier which held the number 1 spot for twelve weeks, and two Number 1 singles in the UK Official Singles Chart, Stand and Deliver and Prince Charming. Nearly 45 years later, on 20th October 2023, Decca Records will rerelease a limited edition translucent 7 of the Young Parisians single with its Bside Lady, featuring the original artwork hand drawn by Adam Ant himself. Both singles will also be released digitally, the first time ever Bside Lady will be available digitally. A 7-inch vinyl record is a smaller, compact format often used for singles or shorter releases. With a classic 45 RPM speed, 7-inch records offer a unique, vibrant sound that’s prized by collectors and fans alike. The smaller size makes them more portable, while their often eye-catching cover art stands out as a collector’s item.
7-inch vinyl is particularly popular for its nostalgic charm and its role in the era of singles and radio hits. Whether you’re collecting iconic releases or digging for hidden gems, 7-inch records continue to be a cherished part of music history.
Vinyl records are a timeless format that continues to captivate music lovers with their warm, analogue sound. Unlike digital formats, vinyl offers a rich, textured listening experience that many argue feels more authentic and immersive. With their larger artwork and tangible presence, records bring a sense of nostalgia and artistry to any music collection.
Whether you’re a seasoned collector or new to the world of vinyl, records have a unique ability to connect listeners to music on a deeper level. Their physical grooves and the ritual of placing a needle on a spinning disc create a tactile and engaging experience. From classic albums to modern releases, vinyl remains a cherished way to enjoy music.
