Description
5time GRAMMY winner and Country Music Hall of Famer Marty Stuart returns with his first new album in more than 6 years, Altitude. Recorded in Nashville with his longtime band The Fabulous Superlatives, the collection explores a cosmic country landscape populated by dreamers and drifters, honkytonk heroes and lonesome lovers. Written primarily on the road, the album is inspired in large part by Stuartrsquos 2018 tour supporting Byrds cofounders Roger McGuinn and Chris Hillman.ldquoIrsquove always loved songs that feel like old friends but still sound new and fresh, rdquo says Stuart about Altitude. ldquoThe beautiful thing about country music is that the blueprint Jimmie Rodgers laid downmdashrambling, gambling, sin, redemption, Heaven, Hellmdashitrsquos all just as relevant now as it ever was. Itrsquos the human condition, and if yoursquore honest about it and yoursquove got a real band around you, you can make something thatrsquos uniquely yours and stands the test of time.rdquo
