Signal Fire was recorded at The Commune Studios in Portland, Oregon and at Zero One Studios in Prague. A much harder hitting record than the previous solo effort Coming Up for Air, mirroring Dans take on the current state of affairs in the world and realizing there was a great sense of musical power that takes shape when the new band is on stage, as opposed to the solace and calm of composing privately on the acoustic guitar. Reed is subtly reaching back to his earlier roots musically, while keeping the intention of the last album in tact. From the title track ldquoSignal Firerdquo to acoustic shuffle of ldquoSoul Warriorrdquo, from the driving guitars of first single ldquoAll I Need Is Yourdquo to the epic, melodic ldquoLast Leafrdquo, this is a record that is infused with melody and showcases again Dan Reeds gift as a songwriter. The album was produced by Dan Reed and Rob Daiker.
