Doctor Who : The Daleks in Colour Magenta & Blue Double Heavyweight Vinyl. This Heavyweight Vinyl is in stock. For more check out all the official Tristram Cary & Mark Ayers merchandise & vinyl available for home delivery with Vinyl Records London, only £42 +P&P As part of the 60th anniversary celebrations of iconic series Doctor Who, one of the shows most renowned tales underwent an out of this world update as it received an artistic colourisation. Originally transmitted in December 1963 to February 1964, The Daleks were introduced to audiences and soon became one of the Doctors most formidable and enduring foes. The story follows the very first crew of the TARDIS as they land in a petrified forest on an alien planet. Determined to explore, the Doctor William Hartnell leads his companions into the metal city, where they discover danger at every corner and what will become his deadliest enemy, the mutant Daleks. These seven original 25 minute episodes have been colourised and weaved together into a 75 minute blockbuster. With brand new sound, a brandnew soundtrack created by Mark Ayres utilising elements of Tristram Carys original music with newly recorded score The Daleks has been updated, whilst ensuring the original classic story remains as thrilling as it was when it began in 1963.
Heavyweight vinyl is pressed on thicker, denser material—typically weighing 180 grams or more. This added weight offers improved durability, reduced warping, and is often believed to provide better sound quality due to more stable playback. Many audiophile releases, reissues, and deluxe editions are pressed on heavyweight vinyl, making it a popular choice among collectors and music enthusiasts who value both performance and longevity. While it doesn’t automatically guarantee superior audio, its solid, premium feel and association with high-quality production standards have made it a trusted format for serious vinyl fans.
Vinyl records are a timeless format that continues to captivate music lovers with their warm, analogue sound. Unlike digital formats, vinyl offers a rich, textured listening experience that many argue feels more authentic and immersive. With their larger artwork and tangible presence, records bring a sense of nostalgia and artistry to any music collection.
Whether you’re a seasoned collector or new to the world of vinyl, records have a unique ability to connect listeners to music on a deeper level. Their physical grooves and the ritual of placing a needle on a spinning disc create a tactile and engaging experience. From classic albums to modern releases, vinyl remains a cherished way to enjoy music.
