Soul Destruction Green Heavyweight Vinyl. This Heavyweight Vinyl is in stock. For more check out all the official The Almighty merchandise & vinyl available for home delivery with Vinyl Records London, only £28 +P&P The second rereleased album from Glasgow, Scotlands The Almighty sees their sophomore release from 1991 issued on colour 180gm vinyl. With some clear confident strides forward from their debut, The Almighty engage from the opening track Crucify with thunderous Van Halenesque drums and a searing heavy metal riff evoking a MotrheadDiamond Head union, before heading into deeper, groovier waters with the likes of Praying To the Red Light and Devils Toy. By the time the speedweighted closer Loaded has rocked and rolled, Soul Destruction has nourished rockers from all walks and subgenres, dirty and greasy enough to appeal to filthy renegade outlaws, yet melodic and sophisticated enough to engage those who like soap and water. It is, amazingly, produced by Duran Durans Andy Taylor, and in May 1991, frontman Ricky Warwick said to The Daily Record that, The album is about four basic things hate, love, religion and sex. All those subjects fascinate me, especially sex subjects as timeless as this album proves to be.
Heavyweight vinyl is pressed on thicker, denser material—typically weighing 180 grams or more. This added weight offers improved durability, reduced warping, and is often believed to provide better sound quality due to more stable playback. Many audiophile releases, reissues, and deluxe editions are pressed on heavyweight vinyl, making it a popular choice among collectors and music enthusiasts who value both performance and longevity. While it doesn’t automatically guarantee superior audio, its solid, premium feel and association with high-quality production standards have made it a trusted format for serious vinyl fans.
Vinyl records are a timeless format that continues to captivate music lovers with their warm, analogue sound. Unlike digital formats, vinyl offers a rich, textured listening experience that many argue feels more authentic and immersive. With their larger artwork and tangible presence, records bring a sense of nostalgia and artistry to any music collection.
Whether you’re a seasoned collector or new to the world of vinyl, records have a unique ability to connect listeners to music on a deeper level. Their physical grooves and the ritual of placing a needle on a spinning disc create a tactile and engaging experience. From classic albums to modern releases, vinyl remains a cherished way to enjoy music.
