Although they only released two albums during their 1960s heyday, Michigans Question Mark and the Mysterians were a significant influence upon garage rock and an inspiration for punk rock. The group was led by Rudy Martinez, one of the first Chicano rockers and a truly enigmatic frontman. Following the bands 1997 reunion, they went into the studio to rerecord some of their old favorites, including their millionselling Number One hit 96 Tears appears here, along with their follow up contender ‘Can’t Get Enough of You Baby’ made famous by Smash Mouth. The 15track set includes a 1966 demo of Are You for Real ‘ plus covers of Suicide’s ‘Cheree’ , The Lyres ‘Don’t Give It Up Now’ and the RampB classic ‘That’s How Strong My Love Is.’ The set makes its vinyl debut.
