Thankfully though, after several years of painstaking detective work, chance encounters with Universal archivists, heavy negotiations with major label legal executives and some good fortune working alongside the band, Kaleidoscope Sounds were able to finally reissue this masterpiece on 24th November 2017. Fifty years to the day since the albums original release on 24th November 1967.Roll on 6 years and those 2000 copies that were pressed back then are long sold out and early editions of that reissue are also now selling for significant sums too and so much so, that we thought it was only fair and about time to press up some more copies.Like the 50th anniversary release, this release features the remastered work of Mr Pete Kember aka SONIC BOOM of SPACEMEN 3 fame. Who from his Lisbon studio, painstakingly remastered the album from the original tapes.The remastering of these tapes though is only part of the story, as along with the discovery of these, a significant number of tapes and other material was also discovered which is penned for a future release when the band96s entire works will be presented in a definitive boxset of all four of their studio albums including all their Fairfield Parlour recordings plus BBC Sessions, live recordings, alternative takes, new mixes, unreleased tracks and material from the band96s own archive including preKaleidoscope demos when they were known as both The Sidekicks and The Key.
