Graced with the incomparable vocal talents of Brian Johnson later to see global fame as the lead singer with ACDC NewcastleUponTynes hard rockin Geordie released a string of influential albums in the 1970s and even visited the upper reaches of the singles chart.For their second album 1974s Hope You Like It the band engaged manofthemoment photographer Mick Rock Bowie, Queen, Lou Reed to shoot the startling cover shot of the band posing as oldtime Chicago gangsters. And the music was no less of an allout assault. Highlights include the 7minute epic Mercenary Man and a cover of the traditional Animals classic House Of The Rising Sun.
