Description
As analogue enthusiasts, Day Dreamer presents their first foray into bringing soundtracks to a physical format with Chris Roes score for the acclaimed British film, Blue Jean, the directorial debut by Georgia Oakley. Cassette plays a significant role in this 1980s set film, and so it felt only right to continue the theme by producing a cassette using high quality RTM tape to present a piece of the film for audiences to experience. For this soundtrack, awardwinning composer Chris Roe has incorporated strings, synths, piano and saxophone to create a delicate, layered score that beautifully captures the emotion of the film. The score was released and is available digitally on Dubois Records Ltd, with the physical production as part of a Day Dreamer collaboration.Set in the 1980s, Blue Jean stars Rosy McEwen as Jean, a PE teacher forced to lead a double life and hide her sexuality at a time when Margaret Thatchers Conservative Government are about to pass the Section 28 bill to prohibit the promotion of homosexuality by local authorities. When a new student threatens to expose her, Jean is pushed to extreme lengths to protect her job and integrity.
