Produced by Nick Tauber, with arrangements by the band and Toyah, the album features a lineup that saw Toyah Willcox and Joel Bogen joined by Nigel Glockler, Phil Spalding and Adrian Lee.Anthem was a big commercial success, reaching number two in the UK Top 40 album chart in May 1981. It spent 46 weeks on the album chart and was awarded a Gold album sales certification. The album followed two Top Ten hit singles, Its A Mystery 4 and I Want To Be Free 8 both of which feature on Anthem entering the public mainstream through radio playand appearances on BBCs legendary weekly music TV programme Top Of The Pops. Its A Mystery and I Want To Be Free have become iconic and wellloved hit singles of the 1980s.The album also includes the anthemic We Are and the atmospheric Jungles Of Jupiter, both classics that have remained in Toyahs live set to this today.
