Tank has been considered a major force on the worldwide rock and metal scene since its formation in 1980 by former The Damned bass player Algy Ward. Starting with the bands punkinfluenced debut album The Filth Hounds of Hades through to the 2015 metal epic Valley of Tears, the band has delivered some of the finest rock and metal music to come out of the UK over the past 3 decades. The band have toured alongside rock giants such as Motoumlrhead and Saxon and were fortunate to be chosen as the opening act on Metallicas legendary Ride the Lightning tour across Europe in the winter of 1984. Tank 19811987 5CD Box is a Japanese limited edition 63track box set featuring the first five albums from the group issued to commemorate the groups ReIgnition Japan Tour and NWOBHMs 40TH Anniversary. Each album includes bonus recordings housed in their own miniLP style card wallet picture sleeve replicating the original release, with booklets containing lyrics and liner notes, plus a Tank sticker.
