Vinyl Records London are on cloud nine, we are now spinning in a brand new copy in Black Vinyl from Airways Airways was born in frontman Jake Danielsrsquo garage in Peterborough, UK, a town on the outskirts of London, wedged between city life and suburbia. Drummer Brian Moroney had moved from Chicago on a whim and bassist Jamie Reynolds had submitted an audition tape in which he was constantly looking out the window in anticipation of a delivery. As they rehearsed their way out of selfproclaimed mediocrity, the three devised a sound that combines a punk simplicity chestrattling riffs with a pop sensibility tongueincheek lyrics that roll eyes at the mundane dilemmas that life throws our way.Their debut album lsquoTerrible Townrsquo was produced by Dom Craik Nothing But Thieves and recorded in various locations, including SS2 Recording in Southend, UK, and various band members houses. Recorded mostly throughout the coronavirus pandemic, the band had to overcome the obstacle of being stranded thousands of miles apart from one another. With the power of modern technology, lockdown productivity prevailed and bedroom studios combined to birth this behemoth of a debut album. ldquoBecause of covid, we had the rare luxury of a long period to sit with the songs before release. This gave time for the songs to sit and develop like fine wines.rdquo Says drummer Brian Moroney. The lyrics on the record are like a diary, pulled straight from singer Danielsrsquo iPhone notes through the years. Witty one liners and throbbing riffs are what the world is hungry for after a tough couple of years stuck at home, and fortunately, Airways deliver a Michelin star meal to your door with this debut album.
