Vinyl Records London are on cloud nine, we are now spinning in a brand new copy in 7 Inch Vinyl from The Yardbirds To celebrate 60 years of The Yardbirds, Demon Records is proud to present a new series of 7rdquo vinyl singles, continuing with the 1966 hit single lsquoOver, Under, Sideways, Downrsquo. Recorded in April 1966, lsquoOver, Under, Sideways, Downrsquo was a radical departure from the standard bluesrock The Yardbirds had been performing. The track features a rock and roll backing inspired by Bill Haleyrsquos lsquoRock Around The Clockrsquo, topped with a soaring lead guitar riff from Jeff Beck which borrowed from Indian sitar music. The single became The Yardbirdsrsquo fifth UK top 10 single, and reached 13 in the US. The song remains a high point in The Yardbirdsrsquo catalogue, with Rolling Stone magazine ranking lsquoOver, Under, Sideways, Downrsquo at number 23 on its list of the lsquo100 Greatest Guitar Songs Of All Timersquo. The Bside features lsquoJeffrsquos Boogiersquo, an raucous instrumental leadguitar workout clocking in at just under two and a half minutes, the track leaves the listener in no doubt that Jeff Beck was one of the most technically proficient players of his generation. This new reissue features the rare US stereo mixes of both tracks, sourced from recently discovered master tapes. Remastered by Phil Kinrade, and cut by Jasper Ward at AIR Mastering, housed in a heavystock card sleeve featuring the US issue cover with spot UV detailing.nbsp
