Animal Magic features the hit single lsquoForbidden Fruitrsquo and the classic lsquoDigging Your Scenersquo, which was a top 20 hit in the UK, the US and worldwide. The album, a triumph of intelligent, soul influenced sophistipop, is a treasure trove of superbly crafted gems including lsquoI Backed A Winner In Yoursquo, which sees singer Dr Robert backed by the acapella singers The Demon Barbers, and lsquoSweet Murderrsquo, featuring Jamaican reggae musician EekAMouse. This reissue is pressed on limited edition solid white vinyl and features exclusive liner notes by journalist Barry McIlheney, who was editor of Smash Hits at the time of Animal Magicrsquos original release. Barry interviewed lead singer Dr Robert exclusively for this reissue and Robert talks about the bandrsquos success at the time upon the release of lsquoDigging Your Scenersquo, and the album which propelled them into the limelight.
